Refund Policy
This sets out the refund criteria for YIC Academy passes. We comply with the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.
1. Withdrawal of Subscription
If it is within 7 days of paying for a pass and no class has been used even once, a full refund is available (Article 17 of the Act on Electronic Commerce).
2. Refund Criteria After Classes Begin
If one or more classes have been used, the number of sessions used is deducted at the list price, and the amount corresponding to the remaining sessions is refunded. However, if at least 1/2 (50%) of the total number of sessions has been used, no refund is available.
| Category | Refund amount |
|---|---|
| Before classes begin · within 7 days of payment | Full payment amount |
| Before classes begin · more than 7 days after payment | Refund after deducting 10% of the payment amount |
| After classes begin · less than 1/2 of total sessions used | Payment amount − (sessions used × list price per session) − fees actually incurred |
| After classes begin · at least 1/2 (50%) of total sessions used | No refund |
| After the validity period has elapsed | No refund (except where attributable to the Company) |
※ For special-price or discounted products, the calculation is based on the actual price paid, not the list price.
※ Where a refund is requested after 7 days have passed since payment but before classes begin, 10% of the payment amount is deducted as a penalty for costs incurred in assigning a coach and securing a schedule (applying the penalty standard for termination of continuing transactions by analogy).
※ The "no refund once 1/2 or more is used" standard applies, by analogy, the tuition-refund criteria in Appendix 4 of the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Establishment and Operation of Private Teaching Institutes and Extracurricular Lessons, together with the Criteria for the Resolution of Consumer Disputes.
※ Where use is discontinued for reasons attributable to the Company (failure to provide classes, inability to assign a coach, etc.), the full amount for the remaining sessions is refunded regardless of the above standards.
※ The validity period of a pass is set by adding a one-month margin to the expected course duration (e.g., a 3-month course → 4 months) and is shown on the product detail screen.
3. Examples of Refund Amount Calculation
Based on an 8-session pass at KRW 400,000 (KRW 50,000 per session):
- Refund requested after 7 days from payment but before classes begin → KRW 400,000 − KRW 40,000 (10%) = KRW 360,000 refunded
- Refund requested after using 3 sessions → KRW 400,000 − (3 sessions × KRW 50,000) = KRW 250,000 refunded (fees separate)
- Refund requested after using 4 or more sessions (1/2 of the total) → No refund
4. Refund Method and Period
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method and are carried out within 3 to 7 business days after confirmation by the administrator.
- In the case of card payments, reflection of the cancellation may be somewhat delayed depending on the card company's circumstances.
5. Cases Where Refunds Are Restricted
- Where at least 1/2 (50%) of the total number of sessions has been used
- Where use has been suspended due to the user's violation of the Terms (in accordance with Company policy)
- Where the validity period of the pass has elapsed (except where attributable to the Company)
※ The above grounds for restriction do not apply where classes could not be provided normally for reasons attributable to the Company.
6. Refund Requests and Inquiries
Refund requests and inquiries can be submitted through Consultation Request or Order Lookup on the website. After submission, a staff member will review and process them in order.
※ Consultation and inquiry hours: weekdays 13:00–22:00 (excluding weekends and public holidays)
